That is a very good question, it's probably because the demand is higher.

We've got two diesel vehicles because they do nearly twice as many miles per gallon compared to petrol, so we are still on a winner until diesel is twice the price of petrol. affraid

Never mind the new Metro link is under way in our area Shocked We were told if we didn't agree to a congestion charge we couldn't have it but the vote was against congestion charges and it's still being built scratch

DEMAND...we produce more petrol than diesel & most cars now are diesels

I'll never go back to a petrol...We are involved in the fuel industry amongst others & see the need for diesel as huge...one customers fuel bill is ÂŁ2.5million a year

Fuel puts the price of food up as moving it isn't cheap & our constant demand for food on the shelves in the supermarkets means more deliveries...

Is that your gentle way of telling me I need to diet Matt lol!

I actually do but am still in winter mode. Keeping the extra flesh keeps me warm - that's what I keep telling myself anyway

On second thoughts though we will be burning more petrol with the added weight.

No I'm just saying we don't help ourselves as we have become a society that can't wait...I'm exactly the same Very Happy

If somebody said I have a stock order coming in next week can you wait till then you'd laugh at them but before the Internet it was excepted...we have the same problem in industry everything is wanted yesterday

I would like a new van but I'm not waiting 12-18months to get one so I'll just make do for now...Emma wanted a new mattress but I don't want to wait 8 weeks because if I pay for something I need it Laughing

45p is cost of Diesel per ltr
    5p is forecourts share
    the other 90p is TAX.

I don't think the oil companies are the ones to blame.

I had the wrong information, just to clarify were not selling off the roads but may lease them to the private sector and possibly foreign investors, some of our road tax will go to these companies to improve the roads that they lease and charge us to use.

Well i like petrol affraid never done exact mpg for towing but overall i have done 13500 miles in 3 years and my on board computer says i have averaged 47 mpg since new so with a 1.2 petrol ime not complaining, especially as my journey to work is under 3 miles each way and although we live in town i drive nearly every where so loads of short journeys, and that includes towing
