That's a posh version of the primitive tool we used, ours is a little round thing with a concave top and another bit that you have to tap with a small hammer. That looks like it's very easy to use but the primitive one isn't difficult and doe's the same job, if I had a preference for ease of use it would be for the one in this video though.
