Have a great St Patricks Day, it's the most celebrated Saints day ........ could have something to do with lots of Guinness being drank my nan used to say Guinness makes babies

If you are of Irish extraction or live in what (perhaps only traditionally) is a big Irish area do you remember?

I remember bits of tricolour ribbon perhaps with gold harps on. These would be pinned to you lapel or jumper with a clump of shamrock that had been posted to you in boxes from Ireland.

Just thinking as the Welsh wear daffodils or leeks for St David's I've not seen this practice on St Patrick's Day for over 30 years.

Anyone any remembrance of seeing or doing this.

I remember that but now its been taken over by big green hats and lots of drinking Guinness as the Welsh used to be traditional welsh costume with all wearing Daffodil's but now its slowly being taken over by red rugby shirts and lots of drinking my mum being a little old Welsh woman born on St Patrick's day getting plastered on Lady Guinness and scoffing welsh caked

All John can remember is people wore green and had a few drinks to celebrate of course.
