Ha bloody ha ....... seriously though I think I may have to abandon ship before I need rescuing. Now surrounded by water and it's still pouring down, the water is at least a foot deep where I am and a lot deeper elsewhere.

Bet you wish you had put that extra 2" rise on the suspension now?

On a more serious note while I'm not instantly suggesting you give it three 9's straight away I'd look for some help in getting to higher ground if there is a foot of water around you. Obviously flow of water produces a danger but just standing water can hide a multitude of hazards you have forgot about. From a ditch to a trip hazard all will leave you very wet and soon after very cold and possibly mobile phone less if it's got wet. If the site owners have got a tractor or other high ground clearance vehicle see if they can give you a lift. As they're a bit short of campers at the moment I'm surprised they have not been round to see that your OK. Don't leave a call to them too long the flooding may be knocking out some mobile phone masts.

I'm okay ..... farmer has been down and sucked up some of the water with a big tanker, 3 trips later and it's looking a lot better. John managed to get through so at least I'm no longer on my own. You can't park on the field but have to walk down from the road at the top. The farm lads are pretty good and do keep checking, there are 3 caravans stuck too so they are trying to make sure we are all okay, they have dragged two of the caravans to a higher part of the site, we may just drop the awning and have them do the same for us ........ or perhaps pull us into the big barn at the top where it's lovely and dry lol!

Must admit I was getting rather frightened earlier on today and the rain has become heavy again so we may end up ditching and going home for the night. No wine or beer tonight just in case but don't fancy the drive home in this either, John took ages to get here because conditions were so bad, may just kip in the car.

Dry weather is forecast for tomorrow so we can sort out then.

We survived the night and this morning they have continued to pump water away, in fact number 10 tanker is now on it's way to suck the water away. Our welly's didn't quite handle it and are soaked inside because it was so deep in parts, The stream looks like a raging river and your feet sink into the ground. It was really unsettling but it's over for us now and no water got inside anywhere but the awning and our welly's. We're going to be busy today just cleaning everything up, farmer has brought a large pallet so we can get to the track without sinking and they are busy doing everything they can to help out.

Helen. I was thinking about you during the night, while I was in my warm bed, it poured down all night. I love camping, but I don't think that i would have stayed that long, though you had to wait for your o/H. Bet the dog and Bailey are mucky.

Bailey was very mucky but we've washed him down in the sea ..... he didn't like it at all, he doesn't like getting wet. They are still bringing the tanker down and pumping water away, we've lost count of how many. It is sunny here now and people are actually arriving with tents but are finding there is no where dry enough to pitch. As for us we are moving to the farmhouse rear drive ...... our very own private hardstanding Very Happy

and then we are going to get some sleep.

I think it was sunny but windy most places yesterday we had a camp fire (chimnea in back garden) cheers it's a dull start to the day here but looks better than we've been getting and is supposed to be okay for the rest of the week.

We wanted to get away at the weekend with the Dandy to air it ........ went away wet last time. Looks like rain though so we may not bother either ....... then again it depends on if it's heavy flooding type rain or just showers. Very Happy

Hi all, it has been sunny all day, but now it is cloudy and humid.

We are staying in Brian( caravan) this weekend, as O/H wants to get him ready for his 1st outing of this year, as we will be going to Coal Houses Farm, Broomhill,Amble for 5 days from 28th August.

Lovely fish and chips on Friday, from the fish shop in Lynemouth. Very Happy
