putting up and down the Dandy in the rain

Post by Caz1960 on Tue 15 May 2012, 10:30 pm

just a thought and our weather adds to this question how to put up the Dandy in the rain and not get the furnishing wet my thought was to cover the cushions with plastic but the problem is that it can't be left there as causes condensation therefore will rot the foam so do you remove the cushions before folding then put back when erected but also causes dilemma as on my 5 it protects the window from the sink unit ????????????????????

I've never bothered with anything but noticed on a friends camper (not Dandy) that there was a sheet of rip stop nylon that pulled across the beds to protect them when folding. You can buy it from ebay and it's breathable, it's used for tents and lots of stuff so perhaps you could do something with it for the cushions.

Our roof also goes up at the same time, well now we've sprayed the inside with silicon spray it does, it just gripped before.

We've not actually put ours up in the rain, yet, but if we had to we would possible face the side the roof is fixed to the direction of the rain unless vertical rain lol! and once it's up lift the bed legs bottoms up and move the Dandy into positition, then of course drop the legs again.

sunny hoping not for horizontal rain as I would sleep in the car but I noticed even with the roof going up at the same time that the beds are left vulnerable so I suppose I should run around faster

From a long ago memory it wasn't the sleeping that produced a soggy spot.

If you wan't to try to form a suitable cover or covers try these people for ripstop or other waterproof fabrics.

Wouldn't any cover either have wet on one side and not breathe, or be breathable and absorb a certain amount of the water?
