Dandy door problem ?? (Damp)

Post by joules29 on Fri 24 Aug 2012, 7:10 pm

Hello,

We have bought our first dandy and I love it !! But - the bottom half of the door is rotton and needs replacing...
The area where the previous owners number plate sat (along the bottom of door) now has a big hole No
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and cured it..

Not sure if its best to replace the bottom half of the door or cover it with thin wood ??

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Joules

The bottom of the door was rotten when we rebuilt Phoenix. We replaced it with 3/4" ply.

Looks good - Thanks, we will probably do the same and paint it white...

Try and use marine ply if possible, if not make sure to seal the edges well. Smile
