Hi and thanks for the welcome, this wont be my 1st Dandy I had 1995 designer for 5 or 6 yrs which went west with swmbo 1.

A few months ago Swembo 2 (I'm praying she doesn't read this Wink ) started talking about trailer tents, conway and the like, so I took the oportunity to enlighten her, she liked the look of this particular one, a phone call was made and the ebay button then pushed Subject to final viewing. All being well I shall be bringing it home on friday
I actually think swembo sounds awfully disrespectfull, she's a lovely lady and I'm looking forward to good times together in the new to us Dandy

Remembering another Terry this one a Mr Wogan I believe an alternative term for SWMBO 2 might be. The current Mrs Toolpath.

Nice unit as you say 1995 or later. Might not have a heater I think I'd have posted more photos.

I wonder if the pipe lagging round the bed legs is to stop them damaging the trailer. I'd expect it to hold moisture though and make the legs rust.

Never thought I'd live to see one but a Dandy Dimension for sale at Ian's. With heater and full PVC awning. Looks gorgeous.

I still can't believe it's only 30kg less than a toilet Destiny though.

interesting door under the front bed. Looks like a door into the gas locker. Useful for storage and access under the bed.

There are few enough of the larger Riva units about and the Dimensions seem to be particularly rare. I wonder how many were made.

I too find it hard to believe that there's only a 30kg difference compared with the Destiny. The toilet alone would account for most of that. I think all the Riva weights are to be taken with a very large pinch of salt.

The cupboard is an interesting idea and easy enough to do - I wish I'd though of it before fitting an electrical connection box for the towing cables on the box side.

The mover is very low - I'd worry about that on speed bumps. I fitted mine a bit higher which means it engages slightly off the centreline of the wheel but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

Ooh that is low.

Psst, don't tell Peridot but it's got a cupboard door under the sink!!

I like the curtains. They're a lighter blue than mine and have a pelmet over the top. Looks lovely.

I did notice but resolved not to get upset about it Smile

It must be a small sink as it has a drainer section - mine is sink only in the same space. Still only the two-ring burner though, some of the early dark-blue ones had a 4-ring.

No such thing as a standard Dandy, eh cyclops

It looks like you get a big sink but no draining board. Ours is like the dimension, a very small sink and an even smaller draining board. The older dandies had an overhanging kitchen unit which had a bigger sink and a decent drainer. I guess with the new MDF, they have to be careful because the kitchen is a fair old lump to lift into place. The older ones would have been lighter in plywood.

Well whatever it was or wasn't the £200.00 Designer has gone.

You can tell that this year isn't last year this has offers on it last year it would have been gone in minutes. Oh it has gone several hours ago there were two offers on it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dandy-Designer-Folding-Camper-Trailer-Tent-/121130276189?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN&hash=item1c33ed555d&nma=true&si=0zD2FwEcs0Fpx3maPY5Laa6VAeI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

It is a job to say without seeing it in the flesh. From the listing it doesn't sound too bad, straightening the support bar sounds like the worst bit and that wouldn't be difficult. Its easy enough to replace the elastics. The rest is just cleaning and making it your own. It doesn't mention an awning but if there is one you could end up with our twin as Tow Itch says.

Yours looks great, I really like the colour as I'm not really sold on the brown ones. I think I may bid and see what happens I quite fancy doing one up to make it how I'd like it inside. Smile
