Are they both 20 to 30 years old or is one pre 1983. If so which one did you vote for?

Just so Nattygeegee knows, if she reads this before voting, I've already added Florence to the "Over 30's" category.

Still finding it hard to believe that, after having originally said we would buy a maximum of 15 yr old canvas trailer tent, we've now got a 31yr old Dandy 4/5 sitting on our drive who puts some 10yr old canvas excuses to shame!

It's brown so I guess it would be 20-30?

Post by ChrisP on Tue 05 Mar 2013, 8:51 pm

On my second Dandy. Originally had an early 90's Destiny which is now with another member of this forum. One trip in my old tunnel tent and I was looking for another Dandy. Now I have a 4/5. Got a chance to put it up last weekend and have a better look over.

I will hold off voting until I get some confirmation of the age.

That's an 80's Dandy, the sides co-ordinate with the roof and it's two tones of brown Very Happy Unusual side window though and looks insulated on the bed side but not the window side scratch

The bed side is insulated...ie feels puffy. The sofa side is not. The sofa side has a window at each end of the sofa. The extra windows let the light in nicely, but I suspect also the heat out. There is no heater. The non-dandy awning it came with is approx 2/3 the required width. If I set it up level with the bed end, it stops just by the sofa window. There is some tinkering to be done, but it could be used as is. At £350 with a usable awning it will see me through the summer. I can then think about modifications over the next winter.
