I am moaning now!

the crown that was loose came out before I went to the dentist, I told the dentist there was infection ..... dentist looked and said no there isn't. Dentist popped crown back in even after I said I was positive there was infection, two hours later tooth was throbbing a lot, five hours later swelling started on my face, back to dentist fast. Guess what it's infected, the option was to have the crown removed with the risk of fracturing the tooth which would mean having it removed next week or antibiotics and pain for a while ....... I chose antibiotics. The crown should have been left out until the infection cleared.

My face is still swollen, my tooth hurts and my head is banging so it may have to come out yet Sad

In Case You Don't Read My "Away In Your Dandy........" Piece.

Please help if you can.

Bitch and whinge time:
Anyone going to The Scottish or Birmingham Caravan show? If you can try to pick up details of any discount codes from Brittany Ferries I'd be grateful. Looking at the cost of Ferry, Campsite and Fuel I was looking at £1,220 for 9 nights 3 return plane tickets left £899 as a contribution towards buses and accommodation. It would be a no brainer but 1 of my mates can't fly. (well none of us can be he can't travel in a plane as well.) We could just cross the channel and fly transfer drivers at 2hr intervals to Spain. Get hyper and stare down the bulls when we arrive.

If anyone has Spanish linguistic skills and knows why it seems so hard to find a map for regional trains? Or why the youth hostels won't give details of availability or price in the booking pop ups. Still with the youth hostels why they have a contact them option that then requires a Captcha code that it doesn't show?

Any tips to get to Spain on the cheap? I tried C&CC and the Caravan Club both would quote but the C&CC computer was down and they have never got back. My own try for a fare was cheaper than the Caravan Club and the CC insisted that Plymouth to Santander was a day and a half sail but Brittany Ferries list it as 20hr.
Even looked at buses and trains

Someone was thinking of buying a caravan so I was going to send a link to my favourite site for advice for this but alas the link seems dead. I did find something else though. The piece below I have first posted elsewhere as I thought they might have more members who may have used the insurance company involved.

Dear All

I'm one of life's sceptics and tend to have a wary view of anything. If anyone I knew was thinking of buying a caravan there was a website that I used to refer them to. Absolutely brilliant. How to buy a caravan from reading between the lines of an advert to how to make the phone call. A step by step master class in not being ripped off. Then at the end just for everyone who thought that it was just too paranoid there were the emails of response from the naive and the outright conned.
Someone mentioned that they were thinking of buying a caravan today and I went to copy and paste the site as I always would but it's showing as unobtainable. Then I found this Caravan Buyers Guide [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Please have a good read I'm sure someone from here must have read the original website.

Now the next part of the story takes over I notice that both Cruckley and Shield Direct mention phoning but neither list phone numbers. Nothing for it but to send them a strongly worded email.

Hello

Initially I'm interested as looking at both your site and at Shield Direct Insurance I can't see any phone numbers even though both sites mention calling.

The main point of my emailing is your "Caravan Buying Guide". I used to refer prospective buyers to a site that provided a guide and then had a selection of horror stories from people who had suffered from either naivety or a selection of rouge selling techniques.

Though your site does not have the recollections the buyers guide seems to be a word for word copy of the their site. It may well be that the author of the guide is a director or one of your staff. The information is no less excellent but the thoughts of a company engaged in the honour based activity of insurance being involved in wholesale plagiarism would be somewhat repugnant.

I would perhaps suggest that you state where your guide was first published or why it is that you have copyright to it as in it's present form it would discourage me from dealing with your company.

I most eagerly await your reply.

X Xxxxxxx

So I will see how that goes. Anyone dealt with these people? Anyone remember the original website?

I am going over to Dover to Dunkirk £69 return(cc) two hour journey , including trailer and us ,I know it is a long way from Spain But its the cheapest and why not take that route and wind your way down through France to Spain most camp sites are approx 14 - 15 euros the municipals or the farms find that the cheapest option as that's what we did and are doing on the way to Italy this year just plot a route from the maps avoiding the toll routes If you tow a caravan then there are stops for caravans in the service stations ....hope this helps

It wouldn't end up with us winding our way down. All options are time critical. It may well end up being a Dover Calais trip and swapping drivers every couple of hours.
Of course we have the advantage of higher French towing speeds if using the toll roads.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Was wondering the difference between the speed if using tool roads and not using toll roads also the cost of tolls. I know that the Dandy doesn't incur any extra tolls over just a car. I adjusted the car to being a sedan to try to allow a better reflection of a fully loaded car with roof box and towing.

So debating cost as against travelling time. Heartbroken thought the one plus point was we would be travelling over the Milau Viaduct but we don't.

With my 65th birthday now in view thought i would get a pension forecast lol! registered with the government gateway site for a accurate prediction what a waste of time,it says i will get the basic state pension of £107.45,then goes on to tell me i will get a further £23 a week for serps paid between 1961 and 1975 unless i was opted out between 1978 and 1997.
Well the last statement totally confuses me as the dates dont overlap, the forecast is based on my contributions but but could be lower if i was contracted out,now excuse me but if its based on my contributions then those figures should allow for my contracting out so what's the point, all it tells me is i may or may not get a specific amount

Just pleased i was contracted out with a final salary pension or i would be towing the dandy with a push bike Very Happy

I like real books too Caz but with the cupboards full every few months and most charity shops being inundated with book donations and refusing my offerings it was just easier to get an e book. I still have some favourite paper books that I keep to read again Smile

It's annoying because it's like watching a film and your really enjoying it then the tv breaks down halfway through bounce bounce bounce
