After BBQ fire logs

Post by mike on Sat 12 Jan 2013, 5:40 am

I know some use the heat logs after there BBQ to be able to sit round a fire, found another type in B&M yesterday they are bags of short round solid lumps of man made logs, they seem expensive at £4.99 for 10kg but are on offer at 3 bags for £10.
We bought 3 to have something to put on the fire when its too close to bed time to be worth putting coal on,they do burn quicker than the logs but give more heat and of course you can put less on than a log.

As I was in Durham and short of fuel I picked up a pallet of these.

Don't know is yours is the same sort of compressed stuff.

I'll save some for a fire pit at a meet but I got lucky and bought just under 3 tonnes of anthracite for £400. Admittedly I had to cross a friends palm with silver for transport and had to dig the stuff out of a bunker but anthracite is a far better prospect over the cold of winter. I'm using the logs as kindling for the anthracite, you need a strong fire to get anthracite to burn.
