Do you take bikes?

Post by family_of_3 on Sat 06 Jul 2013, 9:15 am

Good morning,
I woke too early today, like a child on christmas day I am very excited for our dandy to arrive (shame its only going to be between 2.30-3).

Anyway we like to go on bike rides and I want to take ours but hubby isnt keen on putting them on top of the car. So I was wondering if you folks take bikes and if so how?

Thanks
Deb Smile

You could make a rack to go on the dandy.
I'd hang them off the back door, but i tow with a landrover so i guess that doesn't work for everyone...

Here's one rack.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

There is another on here somewhere made by someone built out of wood for bikes. Looks like a piece of 3x2 under the A frame and under the chassis with uprights etc. (The rack was wood not the person).

You need to be careful not to overload the dandy although with a delta you probably have a reasonable weight allowance. Max is 500kg.

To be honest, a car roof rack would be a lot easier if you can.

Thanks for the replies. I will show him those later, i think i may just give in and get a roof rack when I show him. Easiest option Laughing
