Help please, mums broke my dandy

Post by family_of_3 on Sat 06 Jul 2013, 1:32 pm

I dont know what posest her but my mum pulled on the wooden wing bit at the side of the bed as i was setting the dandy up and some how managed to snap the hinges either side.

Someone please tell me they are quick, easy and not expensive to replace? I have been so excited all day, i am now deflated. Bloody mother.

Are you talking about the bed board ends?

This bit.

If so the hinges will probably be like this.

We zapped a small weld on ours as you can see, because they had opened up.

Riva sell new ones and will post them out to you, Mr Itch got a pair last year.

Laughing  i think the divorce is a good idea Laughing

She text me last night saying shes sorry and keeps saying she didnt mean to do it. Bless her. lol

And Yes, those are the hinges I mean, very glad to see they are only £3.50 each. Dandys are fab, i was expecting it to cost more. And I dont even have to worry about P&P as they are only 20mins away for me Smile

Evil or Very Mad Mothers can be a law to them selves and don't know their own strength but the best things about Dandy's that they are easy to repair and cheep it's just the knowledge to do it

You probably need a pop rivet gun to fix them, or take it to Riva with you and Ian will probably do it pretty quick.

A pop riveter is really fun. I bought one with different sizes of rivets and have changed most of the old for new. Many hours of fun and delight.

You can't have a Dandy and not have a rivet gun - it's mandatory Smile

Welcome family_of_3 - I saw your other post about getting your Dandy. Congratulations and I hope you have many happy camping trips.
