Blenheim Ultra XL

Post by babsinthewood on Thu 15 Aug 2013, 4:49 pm

Hi folks. We bought the aforementioned awning earlier this year and it works pretty well with our Delta but we got our Dandy awning modified (zip out sides) and now we prefer to use that so I have put the Blenheim on Ebay - in case anyone is interested.

How did you do the awning, one zip or two? Any pictures?
Further comments on how you feel about it, how much it cost, who did it etc.

Hi,
the sides are now held on by a zip along the top on each side. There is a clip to hold the side on while you get the zip in. Brian Park Camping made the mods and charged £150. There are pix on the Dandy Facebook page - posted 7 June

zip off sides

Post by babsinthewood on Sun 18 Aug 2013, 9:53 am

So glad Helen is more tech savvy than me and has added the pics. Many thanks!
The sides zip off just under the roof overhang. I think Brian Park (just outside Ipswich) has added a strengthening strip of pvc or possibly acrylic to take the zip as it runs along the top edge of the windows.
It is now transformed the awning and it is brilliant and a doddle to put up. Before we had the zips we simply couldn't manage it at all (despite us both being tall people).
During the hot weather we have just put the roof up as a sun shade, using some extra guylines attached with 'Clingons' (clips for attaching guylines).
