Vango airbeam Awnings

Post by clydestyle on Thu 12 Sep 2013, 8:46 pm

Hi All
I am tempted to search for a second hand airbeam awning for my Designer for the ultimate quick set up.
Anybody think this will work?

Will not be paying full price so prepared to wait.
Thanks

As you won't be able to adjust the height then I'd check that it will give clearance for the door opening on your Designer under all circumstances, or maybe even get the tall one and put the 'tunnel' part around your Dandy rather than tuck in under the roof ...... as water would just run down and into the Dandy. Uneven ground can make quite a difference to the height you need.

hi Helen,
I am looking at the high option.
If I can buy cheap enough it could be a good buy!

We bought the Vango Air Away Sapera Tall which fits our 2003 Destiny perfectly. It has 3 velcro straps which fit to 3 of the bars inside the tent, and there are also 2 straps that go through the tent. It makes the unit 7 metres long by 5 metres wide, so still within the limits for a standard pitch on a Camping and Caravanning Club site.

Doesn't it make the inside of the dandy rather dark. Only the kitchen window remains unobstructed. The standard dandy awning has big windows to let the light in.

@Rik Shaw

sorry to resurrect an older thread, but is the Vango in the picture a 380 or 440, as looking to get an awning for my older Dart

As the dart is about 12 feet long when open I would guess it is a 380 if 380 is the length of the awning.
