the joy of equations

Post by Dustindusty on Sat 21 Dec 2013, 9:52 pm

2w+1D=2DC

or,
two wannabes plus one Dart equals two DandyCampers.

The (Riva)Dandys at Ian Smith's were quite expensive . Then it occurred to me I could have one without paying for it.
As it was getting close to xmas I remembered that my much loved old tomcat often buys me some wonderful presents . Several motorcycles, some lovely tents , a Kenwood mixer , all things that I could never justify spending that much cash on .
Well , I have to say; the 'little fella' has done it again. Bless him .
Of course, I had to lend the little puss the money. But, how could I refuse . He's a very generous pussy cat. And I love him loads.
We collect our Dart on 13th Jan . Woohoo . It's gorgeous .
Look forward to meeting you all .

Has Ian been a bit quicker than normal in removing the sold Dandy? I can't see a Dart with a sold sign on the Riva site.
Do you have any photos?

Actually Ian's usually slow in changing them from For Sale to Sold. It could be one of two. Mine was still for sale many weeks after I bought it. My guess it's this one

but then again it might be this one

Re the 2006 Dart. Is Ian using stock photos or have I missed something. I can't see the gas struts when the Dart is folded up?

On the rear view, you can just see the gas strut under the cover elastic, almost like a shadow. On the front view, you see the high bed and the gas struts on mine for that side are under the cover completely. It's got lots of extras on that one.

riva dandy photo

Post by Dustindusty on Fri 27 Dec 2013, 8:44 pm

When we went down for a second look . Riva dandy was overflowing with Darts(4) , and other models .
Ours is not represented on Ian's 'for sale ' page .
It does have ' fell out with the wife and camping on my own gas struts' lol. (hopefully not) . A full acrylic awning , an interior shelf with lights. And Uncle Tom Cobley and all .
It's really great that you are all taking an interest in our little Dart . We are looking forward to joining you on a meet. Mmm still hurricane season now .

p.s. I'll try and post some piccys but I'm a bit of a technonumpty lol

It's got the posh zip on awning!
Not quite as bulletproof as the PVC one but lots lighter and apparently a top bit of kit. Not seen one in the flesh yet yet so quite eager to view.

equations with piccys [hopefully]

Post by Dustindusty on Sun 29 Dec 2013, 10:17 am

Having read through the 'post a piccy' instructions several times,,,,, here goes.

Wow that's amazing. It seems I've posted a piccy using invisible ink .
Oh well, it looks like I'm going to have to sit and listen to at least one grandchild taking me through the
'post a piccy' process . As she talks to me , like I'm a five year old lol. Not for the first time x

 on your Christmas present. Laughing
Perhaps your cat could give our dogs lessons. lol!
It is quite easy once you master the art of putting pics on. Keep trying, we all had to learn it once. If you do mess up one of us mods can always tidy up your thread.  Smile

can't wait

Post by Dustindusty on Wed 08 Jan 2014, 10:27 pm

Our first trip , weather permitting , will be asap.
We should collect our Dart on the 13th . I'll email Ian on this friday , with fingers crossed.
I've been reading lots of posts about ' windy roofs' 'batteries' and the like .
The mention of the '' connect the 12s plug into a second 12s socket to energize the ,,,, something or other , to use the leisure battery '' sounds very English , very eccentric lol .
Please forgive the lack of names in my post . It's coz I'm using my phone to post this .
We are really looking forward to meeting you all .
I think our first Dandying will probably be at Stanwix Park, Silloth on Solway. It's a full on Holiday park with high hedges to hide from the Westerlys . We don't want to be too adventures until we find our feet. We've camped there in the past . Both in the car and the bike , should be a giggle . I'll take the tent EHU and a fan heater just in case plus the 4season bags . I've camped in -5C with ice on the inside of the tent last Easter although Gill chose not to venture out on the bike that weekend lol . Her comment was '' are you simple or what''? Turned out , I was .
See ya soon

Oh yes windy roofs can be annoying but using either guy ropes or bungee's makes a massive difference  .... I assume this is the thread you've looked at but if not here it is again
