Tow Hitch suggested I do a review of this site so here goes.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

This is a site we have used many times, in fact anyone who goes there does go back many times. The farmer and his wife are so friendly; Geoff the farmer really should have been on the stage doing his Jethro impressions. He gets everyone talking and that is the way you must be on this site. Everyone talks to everyone.

It is very isolated being slap bang in the middle of Devon. You go up Long Drag Hill, through a place called Nomansland and keep going. Going anywhere is a bit of a trek. It's an hours drive to the coast in all directions.

Luckily it has excellent facilities on site which make up for the isolation. Two fishing lakes, so could be used for a fishing competition although you can't use a keep net. Virtually all small carp. The bottom lake used to have big ones but someone netted it and pinched them. Environment Agency may restock it for him. This lake is the idyllic secret carp lake we all dream about. In a valley surrounded by trees, some distance from the site. Early morning you go there with the mist swirling round the water, the sun shining, birds singing.

Also a heated indoor swimming pool in 3 sections, main, toddler, baby and also has a good chute into its own tank. Being indoor it's ideal if its wet (No not Irish.... Raining!).

A good shop selling everything you need including much produced on the farm. Good bar and restaurant although most tend to eat the restaurant meals in the bar or outside if nice. The bar is called the Bull Pen and is where Geoff dispenses his very own brand of Bull. Also a huge range of take away.

Toilets, showers etc are the best I've seen anywhere. Even has father and son and mother and daughter double shower cubicles. Small toilets, basins, urinals etc for little 'uns.

Lovely views and you can walk anywhere on the farm, down through the woods, across fields, to a little stream the River Dalch.

Horse riding either a rein led ride round the site or a longer proper ride around the farm, woods & fields etc for the more experienced. His horses are very safe and there is a lady who gives lessons.

A football field, a Children's play area. The site is in about four fields each with pitches round the edges with play and a sandpit in the middle.

Prices of everything is very reasonable so no need to leave site for anything cheaper.

Bring some ear plugs for the night, nothing but cows and sheep then in the morning the birds start.
