Thanks for the post, very thought provoking.

I visited the place where the farming brothers have a taxi-ing Lancaster and mini museum and that was fascinating. Not far away from the WW2 bases, as indeed, the Canuck Lanc will be parked. If they, the brothers, have got the airworthiness certificate they worked for, is there more to this visit than may first  appear?

Is this a once in a lifetime tri Lanc fly past?

One on the go is amazing, two superlative, but three?

Is this how rumours start on the interweb? lol

Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight display dates 2014  http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/displayinfo/

To be seen if these are to be revised.

I'm keen on seeing the two if not three Lancs anyone else?

Got a spare £3,500 or £5,000 then you can ride in the Canadian Lancaster.

This is all wonderful and great fun but it must be remembered that the people who flew in these were the most likely to die in service. Due to politics and our political masters revulsion or squeamishness at what they had unleashed the bomber crews never got a campaign medal till last year and now he MOD are being as mean spirited as possible about it. 55,573 Aircrew from Bomber command died but Bomber Command did not merit a mention in Churchill's end of war speech. Opened in June 2012 The MOD wouldn't even cover the £700,000 of the opening ceremony of the Bomber Command Memorial. With public subscription and veterans covering the cost. As is customary with such things there were insufficient tickets for many veterans but plenty for the great and the good amongst our political leaders(sic)
