Wanted Dandy Dart - Light / Dark Blue & White

Post by guysat on Sun 16 Mar 2014, 9:36 am

Hi Everyone
We are looking for a Light/Dark Blue & White Dandy Dart, would be a bonus with a sun canopy,
These seem very hard to find, there is one @ RivaDandy but that is above our budget.
Please contact us if you know of one or thinking about selling one.
We have decided upon the dart due to its more compact size for storage & there is now only the 2 of us.

Hi, the one at Riva is selling on behalf of a customer and is open to reasonable offers. It has an under bed skirt, awning and sun canopy as extras which will raise the price a bit. However, if you only use a sun canopy the skirt is really useful to provide storage rather than have it all on show.

The dark blue and whites appeared in 2003.

Yes the light blues were 1987 to 2003, the longest run of all the colours and probably a good reason why there are so many. Some of the later ones had red upholstery and then the latest dark blue upholstery. So the upholstery changed before the PVC did.

The first dark blues had a shiny PVC for about a year before they changed to the later matt finish. Many feel the matt finish is thinner fabric than the earlier shiny type and therefore not as good.

The quality of the dark blues is not as good as the light blues. Such things as the clips in the kitchen fittings and the trim round the door. If you want to save some money, it's definitely worth looking at a late light blue.

Thanks navver I was avoiding saying that for fear of sounding like a stuck record but I do agree with you. The later light blues have the other hinge system for the beds so you don't have "the lump" along the edge of the bed.
Anyone know do these allow more draughts through?

No there isn't a draught. The bed is a very snug fit on top of the trailer side.

That's good then. must confess the bar is a bit of a pain in the proverbial.

I know the bloke who did the darkblue upholstery his business is in Westhoughton [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The fabric is a proper fire retardant upholstery not like the light blue fabric which wile it has held up well is curtain material.
