Off to Buxton

Post by The Admiral on Sun 07 Aug 2011, 11:44 am

We're currently packing to go to the Clover Fields Adults Only campsite just outside Buxton. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow (13 years) so we thought we'd treat ourselves to a couple of nights away.
Not a campsite we've been to before, but it looks very nice and the reviews on the UKCC site are excellent so we're looking forward to it. Will take some pictures and post a review when we get back.

Miserable day - cold, wet & very windy. We did go out but it was so miserable we came back to Minnie. If it wasn't so horrible we'd pack her up and go home! Forecast is better for tomorrow so we've decided to hang on - both pretty fed up though as we really needed this break!

Huzzah it's actually stopped raining so we've been for a little walk around the site and fed the resident donkey and ponies with some carrots we bought in Buxton. The campsite owners have very kindly booked us in to a local restaurant they recommended for our meal tonight, so looking forward to that. It's a shame the weather has been so poor as it's a very nice site in a lovely area but we haven't really be able to take advantage of it. :-(
