Re: i want a dandy dart .
well done mike.
yes its one of those big nasty 4X4 things and shock of all shocks it goes off road as well !!!.
I tend to work as a marshal on rallies such as Wales rally GB and the bulldog classic rally.
sleeping in the disco (4X4!) aint getting any easier, especially when you six foot three.
SO.
that's why I want a dandy dart as its small enough to put up in a forest on the side of a hill in the middle of the night.
the reason I want one that needs work doing to it, is because I will need to strengthen the chassis and suspension so it will take the stresses and strains off road.
I may even remove the old chassis and mount the camper onto an army (sankey) trailer chassis as they are built like barn doors and would give me the ground clearance I need.
this may get me drummed out the brownies but I think it would make an interesting project.
if you let me stay a brownie , I may even write about it with some pictures of my exploits.

e: i want a dandy dart .
the bloke who owned it put it up on e-blag.
it went for ÂŁ75.
it ended during the day and i was at work.
I BID A POUND SHORT (BIG BUGGER!)
the A frame had been cut off so it would have been the ideal one to use .
i want an old cheep one as it would be a big shame to cut a nice new(ish) one about.

I remember that one Mike, he had the Dandy put on a longer trailer with a sort of mini garage in blue pvc on there too.

Re: i want a dandy dart .
Is part of your desire for a Dart so that it would fit between the wheel arches on the Sankey trailer?
What is the width between the arches?
No matter what size the Dandy the beds are the same size so why limit to a Dart? Would a Delta at 4' 10 fit? Would you cut "Arches" in the Delta to make it fit?
I see a Sankey trailer is 5'6" wide. Cut and weld the top and a 5 at wheel arch height would only overlap by 2" per side.
As the Dandy will end up a bit higher I think you would end up looking at gas struts to help you lift the beds. You might even end up developing gas struts to unfold the front and rear a la Destiny?

* i want a dandy dart .
OK. OK .
if your going to hire a hit man, don't tell the girlfriend because she'd want to insure me first.
my disco is a 300tdi jap import with only 74K on it , its only off-road use is forest tracks when doing rallies.
my offroader is a Suzuki SJ410, I built a V8 landy , sold it and bought the SJ, that was ten years ago and its still going strong.
it would depend which sankey you buy, a narrow track or a wide track as to the cutting that would need to be done.
im after a dart because its the narrowest when open so it stands a better chance when opening it up on a narrow forest track.
don't think opening it up would be to much of a problem, im 6'3" so should be able to reach.
the trailer on e-blag s no good, cant fold it up when wet and leave it.
