Day tent option for your dandy folding camper

Post by mike on Thu 16 Jun 2011, 4:12 pm

If you really dont want to bother joining a awning to your dandy there are loads of day tents that just stand next to your dandy,as the name implies it is a tent you can relax and spread out in during the day, store your chairs ect at night.

although it's got nothing to do with the fact that it's blue and day tents are often green - which doesn't match your dandy lol!

The blue is very nice eilis but as a shelter for our meets it may be a bit too heavy for us to carry along with everything else, the other one weighs less than a third of this Crying or Very sad

We bought a Khyam Day Tent over the winter (2010) model and we're really pleased with it!

Our last two tents were quick erect Khyams and I loved them, so when another Dandy owner recommended this one we decided to give it a go. Mind you, the first time we put it up (on a test run) one of the fibreglass poles split and I wasn't very impressed with that but we managed to fix it and it's been alright since.

Is it not the same system on this one then Jayne because the poles on the one we have are always fitted in the sleeves and it sort of unfolds then just clicks up and the poles are very robust.

No it's not, they do a quick erect version, but it was a lot more expensive.

This one is light in weight at only 5kg but still has plenty of room at 10ft x 10ft.

Vicki found this one and I do like the look of it, the fly screens all around are great too and the colour is nice but I like to look out even when it's raining.

The Khyam day tent is out of stock at the moment but I have decided on that one so will wait as I haven't found them for that price anywhere else yet.

This could end up as a bargain he has had skirts added and a breathable ground sheet.

Is it the one with the grey click system poles, they are so easy to put up and take down, can be bulky but are fantastic in adverse weather conditions.

It was really cheap Helen so I dont think so, they are the poles that are all inter- connected /attached together, if you know what I mean! It is the day shelter 200, came with a ground sheet as well, £53. I was well happy with that, easy to put up and we can pop the loo and other bits and bobs in there.
