A bit off topic but the sides on the "sun canopy" are PVC?
I may be looking to adapt a sun canopy either with PVC or acrylic. If acrylic then it would be a superlight 2/3rd awning. When you get around to this Mr Vessey any ideas would be welcome.

Shame we missed out on it. Was at church with the wife and kids when the email came through.

Oh well - will have to keep looking for our first dandy...

Designer or delta seem to be the ones best suiting. Definately not dimension or destiny as both wifey and I are over 6ft and the beds are never long enough in the 'pop up' style. And the Dart seems too small for a growing family (2 and 4 year old sprogs).

We had an Esterel America folding caravan until August last year which was 7ft wide and that was probably about 2inches two short on the beds for me as I sleep flat & straight on my belly. We found our old Conway Miami had a little more - sticky out feet room. Wink

"both wifey and I are over 6ft" endecay said, Have you stood in a dandy before as I think their internal height is about 6ft only and who is doing the cooking if so?
you definitely need one with awning in order to stand upright.

We're thoroughly used to stooping inside our caravans/tents experiences. Very little is made with tall folks in mind and that includes trousers. Laughing

I thought the length of the beds was the same in all Dandy's Question

the 6 is 6'3 wide and that is the length of the bed so the Destiny and Dimension will be about the same.

Dandy Dart -160cm (including wheelarches)
Dandy Delta – 183cm (including wheelarches)
Dandy Designer – 178cm (183 including wheelarches)
Dandy Discovery – 178cm (Same as Designer but with bench instead of table/chairs)
Dandy Destiny – 198cm trailer width 205cm including wheel arches (door is on the side of the trailer)
Dandy Dimension – 198cm trailer width 205cm including wheel arches (door is on the side of the trailer)

The beds are the width of the larger Dandy's. Hope this helps and gives you more options. There is a lot more room in the 6 or larger destiny's to suit a family.

The beds on the dandys are extendible ie the pvc bows out when your too tall lol! i cant sleep on the bed in the 6 that is made by the dining area as the walls are solid so they dont give when i stretch.

Mr Endecay

Have you had a try of any of the Dandys?
The Destiny or for that matter the 6 were listed as 6'3" in width with the rear door Dandies listed as 6'6" in length.
The dark blue Destinies are listed as 205cm wide reducing to 198cm when erected. How they lose the 7cm I know not. Now 198cm is all but 6'6" so if you fancy a larger bed and also a larger Camper try the Highside Destiny, you would need to check if the light blue Highside is the same width.
Unfortunately non of these may be suitable you may be condemned to stick with Conway or the Pennine group, seemed to remember some thing about them doing the longest beds and just looked it up, at 207cm they look to have extra length over Dandys.
Don't want to discourage you but better comfortable in somthing else than uncomfortable in a Dandy.

Dont know if it is the same for the low sided 6 but on the high sided 6 if you put the middle bed up (the one that is the table and benches) this is the same hight as the bed so you can sleep with your head towards the end board and your feet towards the kitchen
No good for the young lovers too much room for the other half to get out of the way affraid

There is a height difference i think its about 4 inches but worse than thar the bed edge can be felt when you try it.

Some high side destiny's made in the mid 90's don't have the bed roll, they changed the design and stopped having any bed roll in the mid 90's on Dandy's, this also makes the bed a little wider and it's easier to re-upholster them too.

Just a note to other potential Dandy buyers

BE QUICK,THE GOOD ONES DONT STAY FOR SALE LONG

As Mike has mentioned before waiting for an auction/sale to end my result in someone buying it sooner leaving you kicking yourself

Pay the asking price if its the right one for you & this will soon repay itself in the good times & memories you have away Very Happy
